Have you ever dreamed about that little piece of paradise that is all your own? We did! ... and so we bought a piece of land in Costa Rica and built our dream home. This is our window on life on the Pacific coast - and the complications of things that hold us in Toronto.

Return of the ...
Now that the plants have covered the bare soil, there is a lot more life - no snakes that we have seen, but a poison dart frog was sitting in the gutter out back before disappearing into the mani. Cane toads (or some other giant frogs) have been leaving presents for us each morning (yes they poop all over the place and it is the size of a cigar). And something carried Lisle's sandal 30' and left it amongst the palm trees (a pizote? - cross between a raccoon and an anteater). Lots of birds - the toucans are around, and the masked falcon. But no monkeys yet.

So that's what that black stuff is! I sweep it up every morning, thought it was birds.
